Front Loading
Washers
There are many benefits to purchasing a front-loading clothes washer and one of
these benefits is the machine's outstanding water efficiency.
In general, a front-loader can save a person up to 40% on their water bill as
compared to top-loader washing
machines.
This is mainly because of the front-loaders faster spin
cycle.
According to the Water Efficiency Labeling and Standards organization, a 6kg
front-loading machine uses 6 standard-size buckets of water per load (58.7 liters), whereas, a 6kg
top-loading machine uses 12 of the same size buckets (109.1 liters).

Another great benefit to a front-loader is its energy efficiency.
Front-loaders can save as much as 50% more energy than top-loaders.
This is due to the speed of the front-loader's spin cycle. Front loaders
have an average speed of 1,000rpm (rotations per minute), as compared to the top-loader which has 850.
The exact water and energy efficiency rating of each machine can be found on
a sticker placed on the machines.
Another benefit to a front-loading machine is that it is versatile. A
clothes dryer can be placed on top of it, offering extra space in the laundry room. This is perfect for persons
with limited space, particularly the compact, portable washers and dryers.
The fact that a front-loader does not have an agitator means that it is
gentler on clothes than a top-loader, and it also gets the clothes cleaner because of its faster spin
speed.
It is necessary to note that front-loading machines require a special
detergent. Finally, some front-loaders have a pause option, so that more clothes may be added during a
cycle.
